
The Program Overview
A 9-day deep dive into the hidden gems of the Western Desert, discovering ancient temples, Christian necropolises, and medieval Islamic villages across Kharga and Dakhla, balanced with Cairo's iconic monuments.

Day 01
CAIRO City
Arrival
Arrival at Cairo International Airport, where the Luxora Egypt Representative will assist you with customs clearance, luggage and airport procedure through the MEET AND ASSIST SERVICES.
Transfer
Transfer in modern air-conditioned van to your deluxe 5-star hotel for check-in. Depending on the arrival time, we could arrange some evening activities.
Khan el-Khalili & Islamic Quarter
The Evening, visit Bab El Fotouh, to start an amazing walk through the ancient Islamic quarter. Witness the narrow streets, and bustling road-side shops and "wekalas". Walk down Al Moez Street until you reach Beit El Seheimi.
Welcome Dinner
Enjoy a 5-star casual dinner of traditional oriental dishes at the Arabian-style Neguib Mahfouz Restaurant, right in the heart of the 14th-century Khan El-Khalili Bazaar.

Day 02
Giza & Saqqara
Pyramids of Giza & Sphinx
After breakfast, your Egyptologist will escort you to an unforgettable tour of the Great Pyramids of Giza.
Solar Boat Museum
Visit the incredible Solar Boat Museum beside the Great Pyramid of Cheops, considered one of the most important archaeological finds in Egypt.
Visit Saqqara (Step Pyramid)
Djoser’s Step Pyramid in Saqqara is one of Egypt’s most iconic monuments, revolutionizing stone architecture.
Lunch
Lunch today will be an a-la-carte lunch at a local restaurant, overlooking the Pyramids.
Camel Ride
Opportunity to mount your individual camel for a short ride across the sands of Giza.

Day 03
Museums & Civilization
Grand Egyptian Museum
After breakfast, your Egyptologist will escort you to an unforgettable tour of the Grand Egyptian Museum, checking out the constructions and restorations.
Lunch
Lunch that day will be at a local restaurant, with a great view of the Great Pyramids.
National Museum of Egyptian Civilization
In the early evening, your Egyptologist will escort you on a tour of 7,000 years of Egyptian history, which includes famous golden treasures.
Mummies Room
You will have the chance to go inside the fabulous "Mummies Room", where the mummies of the Royal kings, queens and Pharaohs are kept in state.

Day 04
Islamic & Coptic Cairo
Citadel of Saladin
After breakfast, your Egyptologist will escort you to the Citadel of Sultan Salah al-Din al-Ayyubi, one of the most iconic monuments in Islamic Cairo with panoramic views.
Mosque of Muhammad Ali
Visit the Alabaster Mosque inside the Citadel, its twin minarets are the highest in all of Egypt.
Lunch
Lunch today will be an a-la-carte lunch at a local restaurant, overlooking the Pyramids.
Hanging Church
Visit the Hanging Church, built over the ruins of Old Cairo’s Roman fort, exploring its marble columns and decorated timber-roofed court.

Day 05
Cairo to Kharga Oasis
Travel Options
Option 1: Private charter flight to Kharga. Option 2: Private luxury transfer (8 hrs drive). Check-in at your Luxury Ecolodge upon arrival and have lunch.
Hibis Temple
Visit the Hibis temple, the only surviving temple from the Sawi period, and the oldest and largest building in the western desert.
Bagawat Necropolis
Explore the Bagawat Christian necropolis dating back to the second century A.D. Witness tombs with ancient Greek, Latin, and Coptic writings.

Day 06
Kharga to Dakhla Oasis
Desert Drive
Drive 5–6 hours through the desert. Stop at the Qasr el-Zayan Temple along the way.
Qasr el-Zayan Temple
Visit the Al-Zayyan Temple in Kharga, located at the crossroads of ancient trade routes.
Arrival in Dakhla Oasis
Check-in at your Luxury Ecolodge in Dakhla, relax, have lunch, and enjoy a breathtaking sunset at the desert edge.

Day 07
Explore Dakhla Oasis
Al-Qasr Village
Visit the Islamic village of El-Qasr, a unique model of Islamic antiquities built in the Ayyubid era.
Deir el-Hagar
Explore Egypt’s smallest perfectly intact temple hidden deep within the oasis, offering an intimate glimpse into Roman-era religious practices.
Balat Village
Visit Balat Dakhla Oasis, a village dating back to the Mameluke and Turkish eras, famous for its picturesque winding lanes.
Hot Springs & Safari
Soak in the Mut Talata hot springs, then take a 4x4 Jeep Safari through the Sahara dunes for sandboarding and a Bedouin-style dinner.

Day 08
Return to Cairo
Return Options
Option 1: Private luxury transfer (10–12 hrs split or direct). Option 2 (Combination): Drive to Kharga and fly to Cairo.
Arrival in Cairo
Upon arrival, transfer to your Cairo Airport Hotel for check-in & overnight.
Day 09
Departure
Checkout & Transfer
Breakfast at your hotel in Cairo and checkout. The Luxora Egypt representative will escort you to the International Airport for your departure flight.
